Choose to depart from Howth or Dun Laoghaire and enjoy the chilled and relaxed vibes of the trip. Glide through the Irish sea and experience the beauty of all that Dublin Bay has to offer; get a glimpse of Ireland’s Eye and Howth Head, and depending on your chosen trip; spot the grey seals of Dalkey Island and the James Joyce Martello Tower. Kids under the age of three board free and return tickets are available.

Beautiful South Dublin Mountains

Located just a short trip from Clayton Hotel Leopardstown, the Dublin Mountains boast over 40km of winding mountain trails, charming scenic walks and of course, some of the most stunning views over the city.

Opt to soar through the treetops with Zipit Forest Adventure Park’s ziplines, try out the thrill of mountain biking along the Ticknock Mountain Bike Trail or take a walk along the numerous scenic signposted walks. And if you work up an appetite after your adventure (which is pretty likely), check out Hazel House café located in Tibradden where you can enjoy a fresh woodfired pizza in the cafés beautiful courtyard.

Wicklow Mountains National Park, Wicklow

Wicklow Mountains National Park, one of Ireland’s six national parks, is situated in County Wicklow, just a 30-minute drive from Clayton Hotel Leopardstown. Often referred to as the ‘garden of Ireland’, County Wicklow is brimming with stunning landscapes and greenery as far as the eye can see.

The park itself covers 20,000 hectares of mountain scenery and boasts beautiful natural landscapes, impressive greenery and unique glacial valleys. A visit to the park is a great opportunity for everyone to dust off their walking shoes and explore the walks and hiking trails available. Don’t forget to check out Glendalough lake while you’re there and, if you have the time, stop by Guinness lake: one of the most photographed spots in Wicklow.

Bray to Greystones Cliff Walk

Beginning at the bandstand on Bray Seafront, the Bray to Greystones Cliff Walk is around 6km in distance and takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete. The route gives spectacular views of the coast as you traverse around Bray head overlooking the railway line and the rugged coastline before reaching Greystones Harbour where you can enjoy a well-deserved lunch at one of the many café, bars and restaurants.

Parts of this walk have a steep incline and the ground is rocky and uneven making it difficult to complete with a buggy. That being said, overall, the walk is rated as moderate and is suitable for families. Breaks can be taken on the way where you can sit and admire the wonderful views.
